In just a few weeks, all one hundred and twenty-four Members of Provincial Parliament from across Ontario will return to Queen’s Park for the fall legislative session, after a summer spent in our communities attending local events, barbeques, graduations, and participating in countless conversations. The return to Toronto for the fall is an important opportunity to carry those voices back into the legislature.

As this will be my first fall session as your MPP, I am eager to see the tone the government sets for the months ahead and the legislation and bills they will bring forward. For the Opposition, of which I am proud to be a part, this is our chance to press the government on the issues we hear about most often from the people we serve.

For me, those issues are the same ones that inspired me to seek elected office in the first place: healthcare, education, cost of living, and public safety. These challenges drive my work every single day. Ontario continues to face enormous pressures on our hospitals, long-term care homes, and the primary care network. Too many families are being left behind. Here in Nepean, more than 31,000 residents don’t have access to a family doctor, and our community hospital, the Queensway Carleton, urgently needs an expanded emergency department.  The Barnsdale Interchange has been promised to Nepean residents for years, yet there still isn’t a shovel in the ground. Every day, families are stuck in traffic because this project remains stalled. I hear it time and again: people want the government to finally keep its word and get the interchange built. These are the realities I will keep fighting to fix.

As your representative, my commitment is simple: to ensure the voices of Nepean are heard loud and clear at Queen’s Park. Whether I’ve spoken with you at a community event, knocked on your door, or welcomed you into my office for a meeting, your stories stay with me and shape the work I do on your behalf.

If you have a question for me, an idea, or a concern you’d like to share, please reach out. You can contact my office at tylerwatt.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org or give us a call at 613-518-9288. I want to hear from you, because it’s your collective voices and your stories that guide the work I do today and every day.
